Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (16-32 oz / 450-900g) frozen French fries
  • 1-2 teaspoons vegetable oil or olive oil (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes. This is key for even cooking and optimal crisping.
  2. If desired, toss the frozen fries in a bowl with the oil and seasonings. Ensure the fries are lightly coated, not drenched.
  3. Place the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if necessary.
  4. Cook for 6 minutes, then shake the basket or use tongs to flip the fries.
  5. Continue cooking for another 6-12 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Check doneness by piercing a fry with a fork. It should be soft inside and crispy outside.
  6. Remove the fries from the air fryer, season with salt (and any other desired seasonings), and serve immediately. Blot with paper towels if desired.
