Ingredients:
- 2 cups (300g) peeled and diced Granny Smith apples
- 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup (50g) light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch (1g) salt
- 2 cups (480ml) heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1 can (14 oz / 397g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp (1g) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Sauté the diced apples in butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cook for 5-8 minutes until the apples are tender and mahogany-colored. Remove from heat and cool completely.
- In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk using a spatula until smooth and velvety.
- Pour half of the cream mixture into a 9x5 inch metal loaf pan. Spoon in half of the cooled caramelized apples. Repeat with the remaining cream and apples.
- Use a knife or skewer to create a cinnamon apple swirl throughout the mixture. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
