- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1 tbsp (15ml) maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp (0.5g) ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp (15g) chopped walnuts
- 1 tsp (5ml) maple syrup

- Add the diced apples and sauté for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden-brown and fragrant.
- Stir in the cinnamon and salt during the last minute of sautéing.
- Pour in the rolled oats and stir for 1 minute to lightly toast the grains in the apple butter.
