  • ½ cup marinara sauce (120 ml)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (200g)
  • ½ cup sliced pepperoni (75g)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5-10 minutes).
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture; stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) for optimal baking.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
  7. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
  8. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  10. Distribute pepperoni slices on top; add red pepper flakes if desired.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  12. Allow pizza to cool for a few minutes, then slice and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
