- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (200g)
- ½ cup sliced pepperoni (75g)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit until foamy (about 5-10 minutes).
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture; stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) for optimal baking.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
- Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Distribute pepperoni slices on top; add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Allow pizza to cool for a few minutes, then slice and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
