Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (90g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar; whisk until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are firm, but centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
