Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (40g) sweetened shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup (30g) chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time and add vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the shredded coconut and chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the treats cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
