Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh lump crab meat, drained and picked over for shells
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Additional fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sautéed onions and garlic with crab meat, breadcrumbs, parsley, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, and cayenne (if using).
  4. Gently fold the ingredients together until well combined.
  5. Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Spoon the crab stuffing into the greased baking dish evenly.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and drizzle with olive oil.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
