Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, vanilla, and almond extracts until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thick.
- Use cookie cutters to cut out moon and star shapes, transferring them to a lined baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles before baking.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on a rack before decorating further, if desired.
