Ingredients:

  • 1 wheel (8 oz / 225g) Brie cheese, chilled
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) melted unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup (60g) pecans, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp (45ml) maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) cinnamon
  • 1 pinch (0.5g) salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 6-inch oven-safe baking dish with melted butter or line with parchment paper.
  2. Place the chilled brie wheel in the center of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture bubbles.
  4. Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly coated and aromatic.
  5. Spoon the pecan mixture evenly over the top of the brie, pressing down gently to adhere.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the pecans are deep mahogany-gold and the cheese is puffed and quivering.
