Ingredients:
- 2 cups (480 mL) bourbon (quality bourbon preferred)
- 1 cup (120 g) pecans, roughly chopped
- 1 to 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper (to taste)
- 1 tablespoon (15 g) brown sugar (optional, for sweetness)
Instructions:
- Measure out bourbon, pecans, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar.
- In a glass pitcher or jar, combine the bourbon, chopped pecans, cayenne pepper, and optional brown sugar.
- Seal the container tightly and shake gently to mix the ingredients.
- Store the infusion in a cool, dark place for 1 to 2 weeks. Shake gently every few days to help blend the flavors.
- After the infusion period, strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into another container to remove solid bits.
- Use a funnel to transfer the strained bourbon into a clean, airtight bottle. Store in a cool, dark place.
- Taste the infused bourbon; if desired, add a bit more cayenne or sugar for balance.
