Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk or 2% milk
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice or 1 tablespoon (15ml) white vinegar
Instructions:
- In a measuring cup or small bowl, add the lemon juice (or white vinegar) to the milk.
- Gently stir the mixture with a whisk or spoon.
- Let the mixture stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. The milk will thicken slightly and begin to curdle.
- After 30 minutes, the mixture should resemble buttermilk. It will be thicker than regular milk and have small clumps.
- Your homemade buttermilk is now ready to use in your favorite recipes.
