Ingredients:

  • 2-3 bags of ice (approximately 10-15 pounds or 4.5-6.8 kg)
  • Cold water (enough to fill a large bowl or container)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) of salt (table salt or sea salt)
  • Optional: Aluminum foil or a wet towel (for extra cooling effect)

Instructions:

  1. Fill a large bowl or container halfway with ice.
  2. Add cold water until the ice is mostly submerged and stir to mix ice and water evenly.
  3. Submerge beer bottles or cans in the ice water bath
  4. Prepare your ice water bath as per Step 1, add 1 cup of salt, and mix until the salt dissolves. Chill for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Wrap each beer in a damp towel or aluminum foil and place in the freezer. Set a timer for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Once chilled, remove beers from their cooling method and serve immediately.
