Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
- 1 (3 oz) package of orange-flavored gelatin (jello)
- 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
- 1 cup (150 g) diced hot dogs (preferably turkey or beef)
- 1 cup (150 g) diced celery
- 1/2 cup (75 g) diced bell pepper (red or green)
- 1/2 cup (75 g) finely chopped onion (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120 g) mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, dissolve the gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved, then add 1 cup of cold water.
- In another bowl, add diced hot dogs, celery, bell pepper, and onion. Pour the cooled gelatin mixture over the hot dog mixture and stir well.
- Pour the combined mixture into a 9-inch square dish or mold, ensuring even distribution.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3-4 hours, or until set.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
- Once set, cut the salad into squares or scoop from the mold, and serve with dressing on the side.
