Ingredients:
- 8 cups day-old bread, cubed (about 12 ounces / 340 grams)
- 2 cups whole milk (480 ml)
- 1 cup heavy cream (240 ml)
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150 grams)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins (150 grams)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, for greasing baking dish
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cube the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the wet mixture over the cubed bread and gently fold in the raisins.
- Let the mixture sit for at least 30 minutes to allow bread to soak.
- Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Pour the soaked bread mixture into the prepared dish, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
