Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces lox (smoked salmon)
  • 4 plain bagels, halved
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup capers, drained
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • Fresh dill or chives, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Thinly slice the lox using a sharp knife, if not pre-sliced.
  2. Halve and toast the bagels until golden brown.
  3. On each toasted bagel half, spread a generous layer of softened cream cheese.
  4. Layer the sliced lox on top of the cream cheese.
  5. Add thinly sliced red onion and tomato slices over the lox.
  6. Sprinkle capers evenly on top.
  7. Add fresh dill or chives, if using, for a burst of flavour.
  8. Arrange the assembled bagels on a platter and enjoy immediately.
