Ingredients:
- 8 ounces lox (smoked salmon)
- 4 plain bagels, halved
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- ½ cup capers, drained
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- Fresh dill or chives, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Thinly slice the lox using a sharp knife, if not pre-sliced.
- Halve and toast the bagels until golden brown.
- On each toasted bagel half, spread a generous layer of softened cream cheese.
- Layer the sliced lox on top of the cream cheese.
- Add thinly sliced red onion and tomato slices over the lox.
- Sprinkle capers evenly on top.
- Add fresh dill or chives, if using, for a burst of flavour.
- Arrange the assembled bagels on a platter and enjoy immediately.
