Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns (preferably whole grain)
  • Optional: sliced pickles, shredded cheese, or chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat
  3. Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for an additional 2 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, smoked paprika, and season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Spoon the turkey mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Add optional toppings. Close the sandwiches and serve hot.
