Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes (about 2 pounds / 900 grams)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them lengthwise into fries (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick).
- Place cut fries in a large bowl of cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain the soaked fries. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.
- In a clean bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the seasoned fries in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
