Ingredients:

  • 8 oz raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, add shrimp and pulse until finely chopped.
  2. Mix in green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. Spread the shrimp mixture evenly over each slice of bread.
  4. Chill assembled toasts in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Set up a dredging station with flour in one bowl and beaten egg in another.
  6. Dip each toast in flour, then egg, coating evenly.
  7. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Fry toasts for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  10. Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.
