Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) of red wine (Merlot or Shiraz)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) blackberry brandy
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh blackberries, plus extra for garnish
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups (480 ml) club soda or lemon-lime soda
  • Ice cubes, to serve

Instructions:

  1. Wash the blackberries and slice the orange and lemon.
  2. In a pitcher, combine red wine, blackberry brandy, and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Gently add the blackberries, orange slices, and lemon slices to the wine mixture.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Fill glasses with ice. Pour the chilled sangria over ice and top with club soda or lemon-lime soda.
  6. Add fresh blackberries and a slice of orange or lemon to each glass for garnish.
