Ingredients:

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 bone-in chicken thighs (approximately 1.5 lb)
  • 4 bone-in chicken drumsticks (approximately 1 lb)
  • 1 cup low-sugar barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Combine apple cider vinegar, olive oil, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place chicken thighs and drumsticks in a marinade bag or container. Pour the marinade over the chicken, seal, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  3. Prepare the grill for medium-high heat (about 375°F / 190°C).
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and discard leftover marinade. Place chicken on the grill, skin-side down. Cook for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. In the last 5 minutes of grilling, brush chicken with barbecue sauce and continue cooking until sauce caramelizes and chicken is nicely glazed.
  6. Let chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy juicy, flavorful Delmarva BBQ Chicken!
