Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 4 cups (454g) Powdered Sugar (Icing Sugar), sifted
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Whole Milk
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the softened butter on medium speed until light and fluffy. (About 2-3 minutes)
  2. With the mixer on low speed, gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, until fully incorporated. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Add the milk, vanilla extract, and salt to the mixture.
  4. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat for 2-3 minutes, or until the frosting is light and fluffy. Scrape down the bowl occasionally to ensure even mixing.
  5. If the frosting is too thick, add milk one teaspoon at a time until you reach the desired consistency. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time.
  6. Use the frosting immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Bring to room temperature and re-whip before using.
