Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (8g) Cornstarch (or Tapioca Starch, optional – prevents clumping)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure your blender or food processor is clean and completely dry. Moisture is the enemy of powdered sugar, creating clumps.
  2. Add the granulated sugar and cornstarch (if using) to the blender or food processor.
  3. Process on high speed until the sugar is transformed into a fine, powdery consistency. This usually takes 1-2 minutes, depending on your machine. Watch closely – you don’t want to over-process and create heat.
  4. Stop the machine and check the texture. It should be soft and silky. If it’s still grainy, continue processing in short bursts.
  5. Sift the powdered sugar through a fine-mesh sieve or sifter to remove any lumps and ensure a uniform texture.
  6. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
