Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Fold gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.
  5. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or a brush of oil.
  6. Pour batter into the centre of the waffle iron (follow the manufacturer's instructions for amount).
  7. Close the lid and cook until waffles are golden brown (about 3-5 minutes).
  8. Carefully remove the waffles and transfer them to a cooling rack to maintain crispness.
  9. Repeat until all batter is cooked.
  10. Serve immediately with desired toppings.
