Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (55g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup (75g) chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add in the buttermilk, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
- In another bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, ground cinnamon, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the streusel, then add the remaining batter on top.
- Sprinkle the rest of the streusel topping over the last layer of batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before serving.
