Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1.5 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp sprinkles or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a 12oz microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until no clumps remain.
  2. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the mug. Stir with a fork or small whisk until the batter is smooth and no dry streaks remain. Fold in optional sprinkles or chocolate chips if using.
  3. Place the mug in the center of the microwave and cook on high power for 1 minute and 30 seconds until the top is set and matte.
  4. Check the center with a toothpick; it should come out clean with maybe one or two crumbs.
  5. Let the mug sit undisturbed for 1 minute. Note: This carryover cooking finishes the center.
  6. Serve immediately while warm until the first bite melts on your tongue.
