Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (200g) raw walnut halves
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) neutral oil
  • 0.5 tsp (3g) fine sea salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the raw walnut halves with the neutral oil and sea salt until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the walnuts onto the prepared baking sheet in a single, even layer, ensuring there is space between pieces to prevent steaming.
  4. Roast on the center rack for 8 to 12 minutes. Stir the walnuts with a spatula at the 5-minute mark to ensure even browning.
  5. Remove from the oven when the walnuts are one shade darker and smell intensely nutty. Immediately transfer to a cool plate to stop the carry-over cooking process.
