Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) prepared horseradish, preferably fresh, or jarred, well-drained
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) hot sauce, such as Tabasco or Frank's RedHot, adjust to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) smoked paprika
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and smoked paprika.
- Whisk or stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed and the sauce is smooth.
- Taste the cocktail sauce recipe and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Add more horseradish for extra zing, more hot sauce for heat, or more lemon juice for acidity.
- For best flavor, cover and chill the cocktail sauce in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled with your favourite seafood.
