Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (150g) frozen strawberries
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp (5ml) maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup (120g) frozen banana chunks
  • 1/2 cup (120g) frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) cream of coconut
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) unsweetened coconut milk
  • 2 oz (60ml) white rum
  • 1/2 cup (120g) ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine the frozen strawberries, lime juice, and maple syrup in a high-powered blender.
  2. Pulse until the mixture is a thick syrup; pour the strawberry puree into a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Rinse the blender and add frozen banana chunks, frozen pineapple chunks, cream of coconut, unsweetened coconut milk, and white rum.
  4. Blend on high until the mixture is velvety and smooth, adding ice if extra thickness is desired.
  5. Fill a hurricane glass or tall collins glass about 3/4 full with the coconut-banana mixture.
  6. Slowly pour 2-3 tablespoons of the strawberry puree directly into the center of the drink.
  7. Use a straw or long spoon to gently swirl the puree downward in a spiral motion to create the volcanic lava effect.
