Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Coffee Liqueur
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 2 oz Club Soda
  • Crushed ice

Instructions:

  1. Place your rocks glass in the freezer for 5 minutes before starting. A cold glass helps maintain the density of the liquids.
  2. Fill the chilled glass to the brim with crushed ice. Crushed ice acts as a filter and support structure for layering.
  3. Slowly pour the coffee liqueur directly over the ice. As the densest ingredient, it will settle at the bottom.
  4. Place the back of a bar spoon just above the coffee liqueur layer. Slowly pour the vodka over the back of the spoon to create a distinct clear layer.
  5. Repeat the spoon technique with the chilled club soda, pouring gently to ensure the soda remains the top layer without agitating the vodka.
  6. Insert two straws all the way to the bottom of the glass. Do not stir before serving.
