Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh lime juice (about 4-5 limes)
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar (or to taste)
  • 4 cups (960 ml) sparkling water or club soda
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
  • Lime slices, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Using a citrus juicer, extract the juice from the lemons and limes. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp.
  2. In a mixing pitcher, combine the lemon juice, lime juice, and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves.
  3. Slowly add the sparkling water to the citrus mixture. Watch for bubbles to form, indicating carbonation.
  4. Taste the soda and adjust the sweetness if desired by adding more sugar.
  5. Pour the soda into serving glasses over ice and garnish with lemon and lime slices or mint leaves.
