Ingredients:
- 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (200 grams) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups (360 grams) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and the centers look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
