Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (227 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 grams) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (170 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
