Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
- 2 cups (225g) pecan halves
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (180ml) pure maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Combine melted butter, flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl until a crumbly dough forms.
- Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Bake the crust for 12-15 minutes until the edges are a pale gold.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup until smooth.
- Add eggs, vanilla, and salt to the syrup mixture, beating until glossy and well-combined.
- Fold in the pecan halves until every nut is evenly coated.
- Pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are bubbling and the top smells intensely nutty.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan for at least 2 hours to let the filling set before cutting.
