Ingredients:

  • 2 (6-ounce / 170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced (about 6 slices)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1.5ml) black pepper
  • Fresh dill sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps with browning.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the salmon evenly with the olive oil mixture.
  5. Arrange the lemon slices over the salmon fillets.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Check for doneness: the internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  7. Remove from oven. Garnish with fresh dill sprigs (if using). Serve immediately.
