Ingredients:
- 2 (6-ounce / 170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced (about 6 slices)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.5ml) black pepper
- Fresh dill sprigs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps with browning.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the salmon evenly with the olive oil mixture.
- Arrange the lemon slices over the salmon fillets.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Check for doneness: the internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from oven. Garnish with fresh dill sprigs (if using). Serve immediately.
