Ingredients:
- 1 package (16 oz) Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage (450 g)
- 8 large eggs (about 400 g)
- 2 cups milk (480 ml)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (2 g)
- 4 cups diced bread (about 300 g)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 100 g)
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, brown the Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until fully cooked (about 8-10 minutes). Drain excess grease if necessary.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- In the baking dish, layer the diced bread. Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the bread. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and sausage, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
