Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats (90 g)
  • 4 cups cold water (960 mL)
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional, 15-30 mL)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, 5 mL)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rolled oats under cold water to remove excess starch.
  2. In a blender, combine rinsed oats, cold water, sweetener (if using), vanilla extract (if using), and salt. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a bowl or pitcher. Use a spatula to press firmly and extract as much liquid as possible.
  4. Transfer the strained oat milk into a clean bottle or jar. Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Shake well before each use.
