Ingredients:
- 1 cup rolled oats (90 g)
- 4 cups cold water (960 mL)
- 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional, 15-30 mL)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, 5 mL)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Rinse the rolled oats under cold water to remove excess starch.
- In a blender, combine rinsed oats, cold water, sweetener (if using), vanilla extract (if using), and salt. Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag into a bowl or pitcher. Use a spatula to press firmly and extract as much liquid as possible.
- Transfer the strained oat milk into a clean bottle or jar. Refrigerate for up to 5 days. Shake well before each use.
