Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tsp (5 g) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 1-2 tsp (5-10 g) red pepper flakes (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 tsp (5 g) apple cider vinegar (optional, for tanginess)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Brussels sprouts: In a mixing bowl, combine trimmed and halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat.
  3. Roast Brussels sprouts: Spread Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.
  4. Make hot honey: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar (if using) and warm for about 5 minutes, stirring until blended.
  5. Combine and serve: Toss roasted Brussels sprouts in the hot honey mixture until evenly coated. Serve immediately.
