Ingredients:
- 1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
- 1 cup Stove Top stuffing mix (chicken flavor)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup prepared Stove Top stuffing (after following package instructions)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (optional)
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions:
- Follow package instructions to prepare 1 cup of Stove Top stuffing (allow to cool).
- In a frying pan, sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent and fragrant. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked onion, garlic, beaten eggs, Worcestershire sauce, milk, stuffing mix, salt, and pepper.
- Divide the meat mixture in half and press the first half into the loaf pan, creating a hollow center for the filling.
- Mix the prepared stuffing, cheese, and bacon (if using) and spoon it into the center of the first meat layer.
- Cover the filling with the second half of the meat mixture, sealing the edges.
- Combine ketchup and brown sugar in a small bowl and spread it over the meatloaf.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake meatloaf for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
