Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Blanco/Silver Tequila (100% Agave)
  • 1 ounce Cointreau Orange Liqueur
  • 1 ounce Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1/4 to 1/2 ounce Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (to taste)
  • Coarse Sea Salt or Kosher Salt (for rim)
  • Lime Wedge or Wheel (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Rim: Pour a shallow layer of salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your serving glass. Gently dip the outer edge of the glass into the salt, ensuring only the outer half is coated. Set aside.
  2. Measure Ingredients: Using a jigger, measure the tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice into the cocktail shaker.
  3. Sweeten: Add the desired amount of agave nectar or simple syrup.
  4. Add Ice and Shake: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with good quality ice. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold to the touch.
  5. Strain and Serve: Fill your prepared, salted glass with fresh ice (if serving on the rocks). Double-strain the chilled liquid from the shaker into the glass.
  6. Garnish: Place a fresh lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
