Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Blanco/Silver Tequila (100% Agave)
- 1 ounce Cointreau Orange Liqueur
- 1 ounce Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
- 1/4 to 1/2 ounce Agave Nectar or Simple Syrup (to taste)
- Coarse Sea Salt or Kosher Salt (for rim)
- Lime Wedge or Wheel (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Rim: Pour a shallow layer of salt onto a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your serving glass. Gently dip the outer edge of the glass into the salt, ensuring only the outer half is coated. Set aside.
- Measure Ingredients: Using a jigger, measure the tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice into the cocktail shaker.
- Sweeten: Add the desired amount of agave nectar or simple syrup.
- Add Ice and Shake: Fill the shaker 2/3 full with good quality ice. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold to the touch.
- Strain and Serve: Fill your prepared, salted glass with fresh ice (if serving on the rocks). Double-strain the chilled liquid from the shaker into the glass.
- Garnish: Place a fresh lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
