Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data 55Recipes (55recipes.com) collects when you browse recipes, submit a rating or comment, or write to us, how that data is used, and what choices you have. We keep data collection limited to what is needed to run the site, answer messages, keep the site secure and show advertising. By using 55recipes.com you acknowledge the practices described on this page.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact form: your name, email address and the message you write. We use this information only to reply to you.
  • Ratings and comments: the name you enter and the text you submit on a recipe page. Anything you post in a comment can be seen by other visitors, so please do not include personal details you want to keep private.
  • Server logs: like most websites, our web server automatically records your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.
  • Visit statistics: aggregated information about which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive (see sections 4 and 5).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files set by us or by the services described below.

We do not ask you to create an account to read recipes, and we do not ask for payment details, because the site sells nothing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

  • Reply to messages sent through the contact form
  • Display ratings and comments you choose to submit
  • Keep the website secure, diagnose errors and prevent abuse
  • Understand which recipes and categories are useful so we can improve the site
  • Show advertising that helps cover the costs of running the site

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use contact-form messages for marketing.

4. Advertising: Google AdSense

55Recipes displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Personalized ads are shown only with your consent. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google presents a consent message the first time you visit, where you can accept or decline personalized advertising and change your choice later.

You can manage how Google personalizes ads at https://adssettings.google.com. More information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

5. Analytics and Visit Statistics

We use two kinds of statistics:

  • Google Analytics uses cookies to produce aggregated statistics about how the site is used, such as popular pages and general traffic patterns. You can read how Google handles this data at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • First-party visit statistics are recorded on our own server and consist of the page viewed and the referrer. Raw visit records are kept for 7 days and then reduced to daily totals.

6. Cloudflare

The site uses Cloudflare for content delivery and security. Cloudflare helps pages load quickly and protects the site from malicious traffic, and it may set technical cookies for these purposes. Requests to the site pass through Cloudflare's network, so Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address under its own privacy policy.

7. Cookies

Cookies on 55recipes.com come from three sources: advertising (Google AdSense), analytics (Google Analytics) and technical or security functions (Cloudflare). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can change your advertising preferences through the Google consent message (where shown) or the Google link in section 4.

Blocking cookies does not stop you from reading recipes, although some site features may behave differently.

8. Social Media Links

Our pages link to our Facebook and YouTube profiles. When you follow those links you leave 55recipes.com, and the privacy policies of Facebook and YouTube apply to anything you do there. We do not control how those services handle your data.

9. Information Sharing

We share data only with the service providers named in this policy (Google for advertising and analytics, Cloudflare for delivery and security) and with authorities when the law requires it. Comments and ratings you submit may be displayed publicly. We do not sell personal information.

10. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we process your data on these bases: your consent for personalized advertising cookies; our legitimate interests in running a secure website, understanding aggregated usage and answering your questions; and your request when you contact us or post a comment, since we need the details you submit in order to respond or publish it.

11. Data Retention

  • Contact messages: kept only as long as needed to reply and handle any follow-up, then deleted.
  • Comments and ratings: kept while they remain on the recipe page, unless you ask us to remove them.
  • First-party visit records: raw records are kept 7 days, after which only daily totals remain.
  • Server logs: kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
  • Google and Cloudflare data: retained according to those providers' own policies and settings.

12. Your Rights Under GDPR

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to certain processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise these rights, write to us through the contact page.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion or correction of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Because advertising cookies may count as "sharing" under California law, you can opt out through your browser settings, through the Google link at https://adssettings.google.com, or by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Send requests through the contact page; we may need to verify your identity before acting on them.

14. Children's Privacy

55Recipes is a general-audience recipe site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through the contact form or a comment, please contact us and we will delete it.

15. Data Security and International Transfers

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including secure connections and the security services provided through Cloudflare. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Because Google and Cloudflare operate globally, your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, those providers rely on recognized safeguards for such transfers.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the services we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect. Please check back from time to time; continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.

17. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to exercise any of your rights, please use our contact page. You can also read our Terms of use and learn more about the site on the About Us page.
